Yayasan Pelestarian Alam dan Sentra Edukasi Berkelanjutan (PASEBAN), also known as the Foundation of Centre for Nature Conservation and Sustainable Learning (CNCSL), is committed to advancing biodiversity conservation and sustainability education through Nature-Based Solutions. Established on 28 July 2024, PASEBAN builds upon the legacy of Arista Montana Organic Farm, which has been active in organic farming and landscape restoration since 2009. Situated in Mega Mendung, West Java, the foundation leverages innovative approaches to ecosystem restoration, combining organic farming, conservation, and education to foster a sustainable relationship between nature and local communities.
Central to PASEBAN’s mission is the promotion of Ecosystem Services, including reforestation, biodiversity conservation, and organic farming practices that support soil health, water retention, and pollination. In partnership with PT. Perhutani, PASEBAN manages over 162.5 hectares of forested land, integrating agroforestry and ecotourism into its conservation model. By emphasizing Community Participation and Resilience, the foundation ensures that local stakeholders, including women, youth, and vulnerable groups, are involved in shaping sustainable livelihoods while contributing to long-term environmental stewardship.
PASEBAN also serves as a center for environmental research and sustainable learning, offering a platform for researchers, students, and scholars to explore sustainability, biodiversity protection, and resilient ecosystem management. By integrating Nature-Based Solutions into its programs, PASEBAN aims to not only conserve natural resources but also create a resilient community framework that supports both environmental and economic well-being. The foundation is dedicated to demonstrating that conservation and community development can work together to achieve a sustainable and prosperous future.
